Warehouse Associate (Loader) 2nd Shift - Rockford, IL

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a nationwide distributor of specialty building products with 26 locations across the U.S. Our Rockford, IL location operates as River City Millwork.

This is a physically active, hands-on warehouse role. While forklift operation is an important part of the job, a significant portion of your day will involve manually loading, unloading, moving, and staging building materials. Our products are often large, heavy, and awkwardly shaped, so this position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and takes pride in working safely.

• Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
• 2nd Shift Schedule: 11:00 a.m. to finish

• →Load trucks accurately and safely for customer deliveries.
• →Manually move, stage, and load building materials throughout the warehouse.
• →Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• →Operate a sit-down forklift to transport heavy and oversized products.
• →Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
• →Verify products and quantities against customer orders.
• →Safely handle long, bulky, and awkward-shaped materials.
• →Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• →Attend safety meetings and follow all company safety procedures.
• →Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

This is not a forklift-only role.

Successful team members spend a large portion of their shift manually handling building materials in addition to operating a forklift. The work is fast-paced and physical, requiring strength, stamina, and a commitment to working safely.

• Warehouse, material handling, shipping, receiving, manufacturing, or distribution experience preferred.
• Sit-down forklift experience is preferred; certification is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the entire shift.
• Comfortable repeatedly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds independently and move heavier materials with a teammate or equipment assistance.
• Ability to safely handle large, heavy, and awkwardly shaped building products.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role.
