Director - Planned Giving and Foundation Relations

We're hiring a Director of Planned Giving and Foundation Relations. This person will be responsible for managing estate and trust accounts, marketing programs for major and planned gifts, and managing relationships with donors/prospects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage, and evaluate a comprehensive marketing program for major and planned gifts, including such elements as personal contacts, newsletters, ads, promotional brochures, web site information, and seminars for professional advisors and donors.
• Manage the open estate and trust accounts, including communication with attorneys, trust officers, and personal representatives, and keeping appropriate Saint Meinrad leadership informed of major decisions and developments.
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of annual stewardship reports to donors of endowment funds.
• Lead the Major Gift Development Committee in the process of major gift prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Manage Saint Meinrad's relationship with 50-75 major donors/prospects, personally contacting 10-15 individuals per month.
• Participate in the execution of major fundraising programs.
• Advocate for endowment and work with the Business Manager/Treasurer to promote growth of endowment.
• Keep up to date on issues, trends, and laws in gift planning, especially those related to tax-wise giving.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree and training in the field of fundraising
• At least 4 years' experience
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and writing skills
• Strong initiative and able to multi-task
