Salal Credit Union is looking for a Capital Markets Analyst to support strategic lending initiatives through a combination of financial analysis, relationship management, reporting, and project coordination. In this role, you'll work closely with internal business partners and external financial institutions to support loan participation activities, portfolio analysis, and operational processes that help drive the Credit Union's lending strategy.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in lending, banking, financial analysis, portfolio reporting, or a related financial services environment who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and collaborating across teams. While prior capital markets experience is helpful, we're equally interested in candidates who bring strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn.

This role will have a fully remote schedule but will need to work a schedule in line with our Pacific Time Zone operating hours. All necessary equipment is provided by the Credit Union. There is a preference for candidates to reside in Washington State. Remote work may also be considered for candidates within one of the following states: AZ, CA, FL, GA, ID, NY, OR, TX, or WA.

What You'll Do

  • Support loan participation and capital markets activities by coordinating participation servicing processes, investor reporting, remittance activities, portfolio reconciliations, portal communications, collections updates, and related operational responsibilities.
  • Research and resolve data, accounting, servicing, and reporting issues by working across lending, accounting, servicing, and external business partners to ensure the accuracy of participation records and financial reporting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with participation partners, brokers, service providers, and internal stakeholders, serving as a reliable point of contact and helping ensure information requests and follow-up items are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with loan sale and participation transactions by preparing reports, analyzing portfolio characteristics, supporting pricing reviews, performing portfolio calculations, and responding to questions regarding loan programs, collateral, underwriting practices, and portfolio performance.
  • Prepare and distribute reporting, presentations, and business communications that help stakeholders understand portfolio performance, lending activity, and other key business metrics.
  • Support project work and strategic initiatives by coordinating activities, tracking progress, managing action items, and ensuring stakeholders remain informed of key updates and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting through data analysis, business intelligence tools, and process improvements that reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, lending, capital markets, credit analysis, portfolio management, banking, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and relationships simultaneously.
  • Understanding of lending products, underwriting concepts, portfolio performance metrics, or capital markets activities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Preferred: Experience with loan participation programs, investor reporting, account reconciliations, financial calculations, or lending operations.
