Occupational Physician

The Occupational Health Physician applies deep expertise in occupational medicine to ensure employees' health and safety. This role involves independently leading the development and implementation of health programs, providing expert medical guidance on complex workplace health issues, and Health & Safety regulations. The Senior Occupational Health Physician plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating health-related risks, driving regulatory compliance, and contributing to the organization's overall well-being strategies through specialized knowledge and project leadership.

 

JOB DUTIES:
 

• Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in occupational health, providing in-depth medical expertise and guidance on complex health and safety matters.
• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of significant occupational health programs and initiatives, managing these projects from inception through completion.
• Independently conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, assessments, and surveillance programs to identify hazardous workplace conditions and employee health risks.
• Formulate and implement innovative strategies and protocols for health hazard control, prevention, and management, including medical fitness for duty evaluations.
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, including the HS&E corporate requirements, maintaining accurate records and preparing required reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to integrate occupational health considerations into operations and problem-solving.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations on complex medical cases, workers' compensation issues, and return-to-work programs.

YOU MUST HAVE:
 

• Bachelors Degree & Professional ID
• 4–6 years of progressive professional experience in Occupational Medicine or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading significant health and safety projects or initiatives.
• Experience in identification, assessment, and control of workplace health hazards.
• Strong expertise in Mexican Health Regulations (SSA, IMSS, STPS, COFEPRIS) and OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge and application of ergonomic analysis tools aligned with local regulations and OSHA guidelines, such as RULA, REBA, and the NIOSH Lifting Equation
• Solid knowledge of occupational health regulations, local legal requirements, and OSHA-related standards applicable to office environments.
• Occupational Health training, certifications, or equivalent specialized courses that demonstrate solid knowledge of occupational medicine, workplace health programs, and health surveillance practices, with proven ability to mentor junior medical or health professionals and supervise health or nursing operations focused on operational excellence.
• Experience supervising nursing or health service operations, ensuring quality of care, proper documentation, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Ability to identify, assess, and manage common office-related health risks, including musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomic risk factors, visual fatigue, stress-related conditions, sedentary behavior, and psychosocial risks.
