Responsibilities

- Assesses hog body composition in finishing sites to project sales of pigs according to marketing requirements.
- Identifies and marks hogs to be moved or sold to the appropriate destination.
- Delivers load movement paperwork to necessary farm sites in a timely fashion.
- Communicates regularly with supervisor and production about group performance and provides data through written reports and email correspondence.
- Counts inventory and number of pigs scheduled for sale as needed.
- Assists other team members to effectively meet department and company goals.

Required:
- A clear and valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred; minimum 1+ years’ swine production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations.
- The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, hog and feed dust.
- The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
