Lifestyle Support Worker - FIFO - Palm Island

Join our team as a lifestyle support worker in this casual FIFO position, flying out from Townsville to beautiful Palm Island with a commitment to being onsite three nights/ and four days per week. You'll provide one-on-one support in the homes and communities of our recipients, helping them live as independently as possible.

You may work with recipient in their homes to carry out activities like clean and organise, prepare healthy meals or maintain a yard and generally make positive choices. A key part of the role is supporting recipient to improve their confidence accessing the community and engaging in activities that will help them achieve their goals. You will also provide transport to and from activities. It could be anything from shopping, going to the gym, attending social events and appointments … to name a few activities! 

To be successful you must: 

• willingness to travel
• have a positive attitude 
• possess clear and effective communication skills 
• demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management 
• experience working in a team environment 
• exhibit an ability to problem solve 
• be able to follow policies and procedures at all times 
• be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals

• a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
• current First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
• a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
