The Back Crew Lead reports to the Egg Room and Back Crew supervisors with the following responsibilities:

The Back Crew Lead reports to the Egg Room and Back Crew supervisors with the following responsibilities:
Supervises Back Crew employees during production in the absence of the Back Hatch Crew Supervisor.
Perform Egg Audits and checks for deficiencies.
Develops and ensures the implementation of Pull Order schedules.
Completes Hatchability Paperwork including set sheets and submits paperwork to the office.
Transfers eggs from incubators to hatchers.
Push or pull up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
Assist as needed with the count of poults hatched.
Organize and fill out proper documents for receiving and shipping inventories.
Run and monitor the tray wash.
Clean and disinfect racks and hatchers with appropriate chemicals.
Assisting as needed to keep production running.
Prepare the Pull Order for the following day.
Work extended workdays and weekends, if needed.

Follow all the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare and safety.
Work as a team member to achieve the company’s goals.
Quickly learn information to perform the job duties successfully.
Successfully lead and monitor others.
Demonstrate patience while working with and monitoring others.
Work around humidity, dust, soaps and disinfectant odors.
Lift crates weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be available and willing to work an extended workday as needed.

Requirements:

High School diploma is preferred.
Excellent math skills are required.
Computer skills are essential.
Prior experience with animals or hatchery preferred.
Previous experience in a supervisory role desired.
Ability to communicate verbally and listening with others - Bilingual Spanish speaking ability desired.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Ability to perform job duties while wearing Personal Protective Equipment required of the position.

Additional work requirements: frequent bending, standing, and walking. Work is subject to tight deadlines and interruptions. The work environment includes exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes and varying temperatures. Back Crew Laborer must be physically able to lift and/or push and handle up to 50 lbs. frequently during the day. Transfer Crew Laborer can be asked to train in multiple departments and rotate departments based on Company’s needs.
