Sentara Medical Group has positions available for an Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hospital Medicine team at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA and other locations throughout the state of Virginia.

Our teams are dedicated to cultivating an environment where every individual feels recognized, appreciated, and supported, enabling them to perform at their best for themselves and our patients. Our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are essential to this foundation, and we seek to continue to grow their impact and scope of practice throughout our hospitals.

Schedule: 7 shifts per 14-day period using blocked schedule model, Fulltime and flex opportunities

Admissions: Primary focus on rounding patients; limited admissions until the arrival of the admitting APP at 9pm

Admission distribution is shared evenly among the team, with an average of approximately two admissions per provider by 11am

No procedural or ICU responsibilities

Care primarily involves observation patients and selected low-acuity medical patients

Supervising physician at all times

Requirements

Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) or Physician Assistant
Prior ICU nursing background preferred
Clinical rotation experience must include inpatient hospital medicine and/or intensive care experience
