You’ll be working on some of the most high-profile water infrastructure projects in the industry, helping to secure Water for Life for generations to come. 

 

The position will be fixed term until end of June 2028  

 

 

Join our team as a Project Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering essential infrastructure projects that support safe, reliable water services for our communities. In this role, you will lead the planning and delivery of upgrades, refurbishments, and new builds across water supply and treatment facilities, driving improvements in asset performance, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Working across treatment plants, pipelines, and distribution systems, you will ensure projects are executed safely and successfully—on time, within scope, and on budget. Collaborating closely with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders, you will be instrumental in strengthening and future-proofing critical water infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of water infrastructure upgrade, refurbishment, and construction projects using established project management frameworks (e.g. PMBOK), ensuring strong governance, risk management, and reporting
  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects aligned with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives
  • Manage contractor performance and project delivery using project management systems and tools, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to scope
  • Monitor, track, and report on project progress, ensuring milestones, technical standards, quality expectations, and compliance obligations are consistently met
  • Develop and contribute to detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing, supporting infrastructure that meets current and future demand
  • Identify, communicate, and manage risks and complex technical challenges, particularly those impacting safety, asset performance, operational continuity, and environmental compliance, while maintaining project momentum

 

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in project management of complex capital construction, maintenance and/ or refurbishment programs within the water, infrastructure, or similar sectors across the project lifecycle (including planning, execution and budget management)
  • Demonstrated experience in the successful administration of various contracts in relation to capital works throughout the project lifecycle, including documentation, performance, approvals, budget and regulatory considerations
  • Experience managing projects in operational environments with minimal disruption to services

 

 

This position will be offered on contract with an attractive salary and 12.75% superannuation.
