Senior PMO Consultant (Freelance, Hybrid)

For a complex transformation project, we are looking for an experienced Senior PMO Consultant on a freelance basis.

The project requires the establishment of reliable planning, governance, tracking and reporting structures. The Senior PMO Consultant will actively support the Senior IT Project Manager and the Project Recovery Manager and will ensure that the agreed project governance is consistently translated into operational processes and transparent project information.

The ideal candidate combines strong organisational and analytical capabilities with the confidence to actively follow up on actions, risks, dependencies and decisions across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.

Experience in complex, multi-vendor IT or enterprise transformation projects is required. Specific industry experience is not essential.

• Location requirement: Only candidates based in the EU can be considered for this assignment.

• Establish and operate the central project management office
• Support the development and maintenance of the integrated project plan
• Consolidate workstream plans, milestones, deliverables and dependencies
• Ensure consistent planning standards and reliable project data across all workstreams
• Maintain central risk, issue, action and decision logs
• Proactively follow up on overdue actions, unresolved decisions and critical dependencies
• Prepare regular status reports and management presentations
• Establish clear reporting cycles, templates and governance routines
• Support the preparation and follow-up of project meetings, management meetings and steering committees
• Document decisions, responsibilities, actions and deadlines
• Ensure that project decisions and governance requirements are communicated and implemented
• Monitor project progress against agreed milestones and target datesIdentify deviations and escalate critical topics to the relevant project leadership
• Support resource, capacity and milestone planningMaintain a structured and transparent project documentation environment
• Coordinate information across internal teams, external partners and project workstreams
• Support the Project Recovery Manager in implementing the new governance modelSupport the Senior IT Project Manager in operational project steering
• Contribute to readiness tracking and preparation for key project phases and the planned go-live

• Several years of experience in senior PMO roles within complex IT or enterprise transformation projects
• Proven experience in establishing or significantly improving project management office structures
• Strong experience in integrated planning across multiple workstreams
• Excellent knowledge of risk, issue, action, dependency and decision management
• Experience in establishing governance routines, reporting cycles and management-level status reporting
• Strong ability to consolidate complex project information and create transparent, reliable project reporting
• Confident handling of senior stakeholders, workstream leads and external partners
• Proactive and assertive approach to following up on actions, decisions, risks and overdue deliverables
• Strong organisational, analytical and documentation skills
• High level of attention to detail without losing sight of overall project prioritiesIndependent, structured and solution-oriented working style
