Our team is a blend of industry experts and technologists building a better business, together. We’re in it for the long haul. Are you looking to be part of a dedicated, dispersed team where you can architect your impact and shape the company’s vision? Join us at Signal!
Signal Advisors is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to give our IT a dedicated owner. You won’t just work the support queue; you’ll own it end to end, build the request-and-vendor process, and improve the systems behind it—Okta, Google Workspace, MDM, and the tools that come next—with the tech team behind you whenever a project needs more hands. Within 90 days, IT support is yours and a tool request has a known path and a known turnaround. You’ll report to our Director of Automation and work most closely with them on IT and tech initiatives, with our CISO on specific security projects, and pull in the rest of the tech team when you need them. Experience running a SaaS-based IT environment as its owner is essential; having owned a vendor process before is an asset.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own IT support end to end—the Linear IT queue from intake through resolution, including onboarding and offboarding: accounts, access, hardware, and device recovery
- →Build and run the software and vendor process—requests, evaluation, procurement, renewals, licensing, and the application inventory—so every tool request has a known path and a known turnaround
- →Keep core systems reliable and make them better: Okta, Google Workspace, 1Password, Slack, Zoom, MDM (Iru, formerly Kandji, and NinjaOne), domains and DNS, and office technology
- →Ship the improvement projects on those systems—Okta, MDM, and the new tools we adopt—from evaluation through rollout
- →Execute the security initiatives our CISO needs implemented on the IT side
- →Document IT in runbooks and self-service resources that others can follow without asking
- →Automate the repetitive parts of IT over time, so the work shrinks as the company grows
- An owner’s mindset: you want a lot on your plate that is yours, with the tech team as backup rather than a crew doing the same work
- Self-direction: you set your own priorities and check in when it matters, not because someone is watching
- A builder’s restlessness with systems: you improve what you run rather than only keeping it running
- Comfort being the company’s technical support and its IT project lead at the same time, and switching between the two without dropping either
- Experience administering a modern SaaS-based IT environment—an identity provider such as Okta, Google Workspace, an MDM—as its primary owner, not as one member of an IT team
- Experience running an IT support queue alone, intake through resolution, at a company of comparable size
- Experience implementing security work handed down by a security lead, on systems you administered
- Runbooks and documentation you’ve written that others followed without asking
- Ownership of a software request and vendor process (evaluation, procurement, renewals, licensing); preferred
- Okta specifically, and Iru (formerly Kandji), NinjaOne, or Bitdefender; a plus
- Slack, Zoom Phone, or Zoom Contact Center administration, and domains and DNS; a plus
- Experience automating IT workflows and operational processes; a plus
