Landscape Fleet Mechanic

As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team and help keep our vehicles, trailers, and equipment safe, reliable, and ready for work.

As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Signature Landscape's fleet of vehicles, trailers, and equipment. Your work will help keep our crews productive and our equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles, trailers, and equipment.

• →

  Complete scheduled services such as oil changes, brake service, tire maintenance, lubrication, filter replacement, and fluid changes.

• →

  Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, clutches, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and exhaust systems.

  Remove, repair, and replace mechanical components and parts as needed.

• →

  Perform general tire maintenance, including removing and replacing tires and wheels on trucks, trailers, and equipment.

• →

  Inspect vehicles and equipment and identify repairs or maintenance that may be needed.

• →

  Prepare repair estimates and obtain authorization for more extensive or unusual repairs.

• →

  Follow established preventative maintenance schedules.

• →

  Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, inspection records, and inventory records.

• →

  Monitor parts and supplies and ensure orders are placed accurately and timely.

• →

  Maintain and repair company-owned tools, equipment, and vehicles.

• →

  Keep the maintenance area clean, organized, and safe.

• →

  Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• →

  Cross-train in small-engine repair and assist other mechanics and team members as needed.

• →

  Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate is an experienced mechanic who is dependable, safety-minded, and takes pride in doing quality work.

• At least 2 years of mechanical repair experience or equivalent training.

• Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles, trucks, trailers, or equipment.

• Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to complete routine maintenance records, reports, and work orders.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

• Self-motivated and dependable.

• Willingness to learn, grow, and cross-train in different areas of equipment repair.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical examination and maintain medical qualification as required for assigned job duties.

• Ability to provide and maintain the personal tools necessary to perform the job.

• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.

• Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.

This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle and equipment maintenance, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods

• Reaching

• Stooping and bending

• Kneeling and crouching

• Climbing stairs and ladders

• Lifting, carrying, and pulling

• Working in confined or awkward positions

• Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds

• Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds

This is a hands-on maintenance position performed in a service and shop environment.

• Work around trucks, trailers, landscape equipment, and mechanical systems

• Occasional outdoor work and varying weather conditions

• Use of hand tools and mechanical equipment

• Required use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection
