Drain Technician

Drain and sewer issues are some of the most urgent calls in home services. At Davis Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric, our Drain Technicians help customers get their homes back to normal quickly while identifying the underlying cause of the problem.

We’re looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Drain Technician who is comfortable working in customers’ homes, operating professional drain equipment, and communicating clearly about what they find.

Whether you already have drain-cleaning experience or are building your career within plumbing, Davis offers the support, training, and opportunity to continue developing your skills.

• →Diagnose and clear residential drain and sewer stoppages.
• →Operate cable machines, augers, drain-cleaning equipment, and related tools.
• →Perform sewer-camera inspections and identify blockages, root intrusion, damaged piping, and other drainage issues.
• →Explain findings and recommended next steps clearly to homeowners.
• →Identify when issues require additional plumbing repair, excavation, jetting, or sewer-line replacement.
• →Complete accurate service notes, photos, and job documentation.
• →Protect customers’ homes and maintain a clean, professional work area.
• →Maintain drain-cleaning equipment, tools, vehicle, and inventory.
• →Coordinate with dispatch, plumbers, customer service, and other field teams.
• →Follow company safety procedures and proper equipment-use practices.
• →Participate in technical and customer-service training.

• Previous drain-cleaning, plumbing, maintenance, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using drain-cleaning and sewer-inspection equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to involve a plumber or supervisor.
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in basements, crawl spaces, and outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to learn and continue developing plumbing and drain-service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Success means clearing drain problems efficiently, identifying the real cause of the issue, communicating professionally with the homeowner, and knowing when a more advanced plumbing solution is needed.

You’ll be expected to take care of the customer, maintain your equipment, and continue building your technical skills.
