The Job Profile
We are looking for a Senior Advertising Manager to join our UK Adult Marketing team, reporting to the Marketing Director. This is a hands-on specialist role working across fiction and non-fiction: building effective campaigns for major publications while spotting the genre, seasonal and backlist opportunities that can bring more readers to our books and drive profitable sales. You will bring the technical expertise that helps the team act quickly, learn from results and make informed decisions about where to invest.
The Job Role
This role is responsible for planning, setting up and optimising paid marketing campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Amazon and Google. Working closely with campaign managers, they will develop audience strategies, creative approaches, budgets and campaign timings to maximise performance and support title objectives.
The postholder will identify opportunities across the Adult publishing list, turning reader trends, publicity activity and seasonal demand into targeted advertising campaigns that drive awareness and sales. They will set clear objectives, track performance and provide reporting to colleagues, authors and agents.
Using audience insights, testing and sales data, they will optimise campaign effectiveness and recommend where marketing investment will have the greatest impact. They will also share platform expertise with the wider Adult Marketing team and work closely with Sales, Publicity, Editorial and Digital colleagues to deliver successful campaigns.
The Candidate Profile
You will have substantial hands-on experience managing paid digital advertising, including budgets, targeting, testing and optimisation. You will be comfortable working across Meta, TikTok, Amazon and Google, and able to turn performance data into clear recommendations. You will have strong analytical skills, be commercially minded, curious about books and reader behaviour, and able to balance planned campaigns with fast-moving opportunities. Experience in publishing is welcome, but we also encourage applications from candidates in other consumer-facing sectors who can show how their skills translate to books.
