The Junior Pre-Sales Support role provides operational, administrative and coordination support to the Pre-Sales and Sales teams throughout the sales lifecycle. The role assists with managing pre-sales requests, preparing quotes and documentation, coordinating vendor and distributor requirements, maintaining opportunity information, and supporting Pre-Sales Consultants with the development of customer solutions.
This is an entry-level role designed to build knowledge across pre-sales processes, technology solutions, vendor programs and commercial requirements, with the opportunity to progress into a Pre-Sales Consultant or other technical or commercial role.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Monitor the Pre-Sales queue and coordinate incoming requests
- Review requests to ensure the required information has been provided
- Allocate or assist with assigning Pre-Sales requests to the appropriate team member
- Track outstanding Pre-Sales activities and follow up on actions where required
- Maintain accurate opportunity and Pre-Sales records
- Assist with preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and solution configurations
- Assist with coordinating priorities and deadlines across the Pre-Sales team
- Escalate urgent or incomplete requests to the appropriate team member
- Assist with preparing customer quotes and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Obtain pricing from vendors and distributors
- Assist with validating SKUs, licensing, subscriptions and support requirements
- Check product availability, lead times and relevant commercial information
- Assist with deal registration and special pricing requests
- Follow up with vendors and distributors on outstanding pricing and quote requests
- Support Sales Operations with pricing, quoting and other commercial requirements
- Maintain pricing and quotation documentation where required
- Assist Pre-Sales Consultants with preparing Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals and other customer documentation
- Assist with formatting and maintaining solution documentation
- Prepare basic scope descriptions and task lists using established templates
- Assist with documenting assumptions, exclusions, dependencies and deliverables
- Maintain standard Pre-Sales templates and supporting documentation
- Ensure documentation is complete and follows internal standards before submission
- Act as a liaison between the Pre-Sales team, vendors and distributors for day-to-day requests
- Coordinate requests for product information, pricing and availability
- Assist with vendor and distributor escalations
- Maintain relevant vendor contacts and information
- Assist with navigating vendor portals and tools
- Participate in vendor training and enablement activities to develop product knowledge
- Work closely with Sales, Pre-Sales Consultants, Engineers, Project Delivery and Managed Services teams
- Assist with gathering information required to progress customer opportunities
- Coordinate internal follow-ups and outstanding actions
- Assist with the handover of approved solutions to Project Delivery or Managed Services
- Attend internal and customer meetings where required and document actions and requirements

- No formal tertiary qualification required — this is an entry-level role
- A qualification or current study in Information Technology, Business or a related field will be considered an advantage

- Ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities

- Comfortable communicating with internal teams, vendors and distributors

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Previous experience in sales support, technical coordination, IT support, service desk, sales operations, procurement or a similar coordination role
- Exposure to IT hardware, software, licensing and subscription models
- Familiarity with quoting, CRM, ticketing or PSA systems
- Basic knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, cloud or infrastructure technologies
- Exposure to technology vendors and distributors (e.g. networking, security, or cloud vendors)
