This opportunity is in the Insurance Underwriting department

The Insurance Underwriting Department offers a culture of empowerment to produce results and resolve clients’ issues. Our team has an excellent track record of success with an experienced and creative group of people that work well together while underwriting various lines of coverage for large accounts representing numerous industries.

As a Large Casualty Regional Underwriting Manager, you will play an integral role in driving profitable growth within your assigned territory by underwriting and servicing complex, multi-line large deductible accounts. You will develop strong relationships with brokers and insureds, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and build a robust pipeline designed to achieve financial objectives.

In this role, you will evaluate new and renewal opportunities by analyzing applications, loss control reports, financial statements, loss experience, claim files, and other underwriting information. You will determine appropriate aggregate attachments, limits, retention levels, and premiums while evaluating reinsurance needs and operating within delegated underwriting authority. You will collaborate closely with Actuarial, Legal, and Claims to develop effective pricing approaches, address contracts and compliance matters, and support the delivery of claims services.

You will also serve as a visible representative of Safety National in the marketplace, conducting producer and client meetings and clearly communicating our value proposition. Your ability to develop agency relationships, negotiate favorable outcomes, use data to make sound business decisions, and provide advice and counsel to fellow underwriters will help position both you and the organization for long-term success.
