Valley Catholic Middle School seeks an outstanding educator to join our Humanities Department during the 2026–2027 school year.

Valley Catholic Middle School is an independent Catholic school serving students in grades six through eight in Beaverton, Oregon. Teaching Assignment

This position provides an opportunity to inspire students through the study of history, literature, writing, research, culture, and critical thinking.

Salary Range:
$45,397 (Bachelor's Degree, Step 0) – $64,602 (Master's Degree, Step 7+), depending on education and experience.

Teaching Assignment
Through the end of Semester 1 (January 2027):
- Serve in a 7th Grade English instructional support role, working alongside the Humanities or Spanish team and preparing for the transition to the permanent teaching assignment.
Beginning Semester 2 (January 2027):
- Four sections of 7th Grade History
- One section of 7th Grade English
This position provides an opportunity to inspire students through the study of history, literature, writing, research, culture, and critical thinking.

- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, research, and analytical-thinking skills.
- Use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies to support student growth.
- Create an organized, positive, and respectful classroom culture.
- Build strong relationships with middle school students while maintaining clear expectations.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate actively in department collaboration, faculty life, and the broader school community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Oregon Teaching License or ability to obtain appropriate licensure
- Appropriate endorsement in Social Studies and/or Language Arts preferred
- Strong content knowledge in history, literature, and writing
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for teaching and working with middle school students
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and interdisciplinary learning
- Commitment to continuous professional growth
