The Functional Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging business needs, product vision, and delivery execution. Working closely with the Product Owner (PO), development teams, and architecture stakeholders, this role ensures that business requirements are well understood, properly scoped, functionally designed, and seamlessly integrated into the Information System (IS).
How you will contribute to the day-to-day activities of the team:
1. Business Requirements Analysis
• Analyze, challenge, and refine business requirements based on priorities defined by the Product Owner.
• Facilitate and lead workshops with business users to clarify, scope, and formalize requirements.
• Assess the functional, technical, and organizational impacts of business requirements, and provide recommendations on options, risks, and cost implications.
• Support the Product Owner in defining, initiating, and maintaining the product roadmap.
• Assist the Product Owner and delivery team in decomposing requirements into MVPs and detailed user stories.
• Translate business requirements into functional use cases and comprehensive specification documents.
2. Functional Design of the Product
• Ensure a strong understanding and communication of the end-to-end business processes, in collaboration with the Product Owner.
• Identify and assess existing solutions within or outside the business unit to avoid functional redundancy.
• Anticipate and manage functional dependencies across teams working on the same platform or ecosystem.
• Guide and inspire the team toward optimal functional solutions, facilitating functional discussions and decision-making.
• Understand technical constraints and actively contribute to functional and technical design discussions.
• Prepare and present functional design options to support Product Owner decisions, following consultation with the team.
3. Team Functional Support & Knowledge Sharing
• Train and onboard new team members on the product’s functional scope and business domain.
• Promote knowledge sharing and functional expertise across the team.
• Support team members in resolving functional issues encountered during analysis, development, or delivery phases.
4. Production & IS Integration Support
• Analyze the impact of product design on the Information System’s functional and technical architecture, in alignment with functional and technical architects.
• Consider technical architecture constraints when defining and validating functional solutions.
• Support production inquiries, incidents, and major events by contributing functional expertise.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and resolution of functional issues within the Feature Team’s scope.
• Act as a functional reference point for production support and operational stakeholders.
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
• Strong expertise in business analysis, functional design, and requirements management
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills, particularly in workshop settings
• Ability to work closely with Product Owners, architects, and development teams
• Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Solid understanding of end-to-end business processes and IT systems integration
• Experience working in agile environments (roadmaps, MVPs, user stories)
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
