MARK/FIC Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the global MARK/FIC business across strategy, transformation, governance and day-to-day activities. I. Role overview.
The MARK/FIC COO supports the MARK/FIC franchise globally across both business-as-usual and transformation activities. The role combines strategic, managerial and execution responsibilities to ensure the business operates efficiently, sustainably and in line with BU and Group priorities. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting business strategy and delivering key transformation initiatives (FIC SPP and related steering)
Strengthening governance, risk and control frameworks across the MARK/FIC perimeter
Optimizing operating models processes and resource allocation (including Performance & Efficiency Program)
Monitoring business performance and operational effectiveness
Representing MARK/FIC with key internal and external stakeholders
Leading and coordinating the global MARK/FIC BMO*, ORM* and TDA* community across EMEA, UK, AMER and APAC

II. Key responsibilities.
Strategy, Business Performance and Transformation:
Support the Head of MARK/FIC in defining and executing the business roadmap
Drive strategic initiatives that support growth, efficiency and business resilience
Oversee budget processes and resource allocation in partnership with relevant stakeholders
Provide management with insights on markets, business and industry developments
Governance, Risk and Control:
Ensure a robust operational risk and control framework across the MARK/FIC perimeter
Steer regulatory, audit and inspection reviews and oversee remediation plans
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency and sound governance
Stakeholder Management and Leadership:
Act as a key interface between MARK/FIC and partner functions including GBTO, RISQ, DFIN and Compliance
Represent MARK/FIC internally and externally when required
Contribute actively to governance forums and leadership committees (SPP, QBR, Tech/Trading/Sales Board)
Foster collaboration and alignment across regions and stakeholder groups
This is a senior leadership role requiring sound judgment, strong autonomy and the ability to operate effectively in a complex and international environment.
Expertise and previous experience:
In-depth knowledge of Global Markets products, processes, tools and value chains, with particular expertise in Fixed Income and Currencies activities
Proven Business Management (COO), Project Management or organizational experience
Strong strategic mindset combined with solid execution capabilities
Experience operating in a global multicultural environment and ability to work effectively across regions
Leadership:
Demonstrated capacity to lead teams and complex cross-functional initiatives
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to constructively challenge, align and influence diverse partners around business strategic priorities
Ability to interact effectively with senior management
Other competencies:
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Good understanding of regulatory framework and of SG procedures and guidelines
Ready to cope with high level of pressure
