Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Lead the accounting and reporting for Fidelity long-term incentive and deferred compensation programs, including the related hedge accounting framework.
- →Manage and review bonus accrual processes for both cash-based and deferred compensation plans, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
- →Serve as the primary HR Accounting contact for:
- →S2747 BIS (Bernstein US)
- →S2739 Sanford (Bernstein Canada)
- →Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities related to compensation and benefits programs.
- →Analyze and reconcile complex accounting entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
- →Partner closely with HR, Finance, Treasury, and external stakeholders to support compensation-related initiatives and accounting requirements.
- →Provide technical guidance on accounting treatment for deferred compensation arrangements and associated hedging activities.
- →Support internal and external audits and respond to regulatory and control-related inquiries.
- →Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen operational efficiency and risk management.
- →Act as a key escalation point for complex accounting matters affecting Bernstein entities in the United States and Canada.
- →Stakeholder Management : The role requires regular interaction with senior stakeholders within the Bernstein reporting structure.
This is a senior specialist role requiring significant technical accounting expertise, strong knowledge of compensation-related accounting matters, and the ability to act as the principal subject matter expert for complex HR Accounting activities across Bernstein entities in the United States and Canada.
- Extensive experience in HR Accounting, Compensation Accounting, or a related finance function.
- Strong expertise in deferred compensation programs, long-term incentive plans, and bonus accrual accounting.
- Advanced knowledge of hedge accounting as applied to compensation-related programs.
- Proven experience supporting complex legal entity structures and cross-border operations.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and financial control skills.
- Ability to operate independently and provide technical leadership within the team.
- Experience interacting with senior management and supporting audit and regulatory requirements.
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
