Software Engineer – Azure & Data Lake

Software Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting XRM / PnL use cases
• Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed user stories
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices (TDD, CI/CD, code reviews)
• Contribute to solution design in a complex data and system landscape

Cloud & Data Lake Integration:

• Design and implement solutions on Microsoft Azure, utilizing services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and related cloud tools for efficient data ingestion, processing, and retrieval.
• Develop strategies for Data Lake management, ensuring data quality, security, and scalability.

DevOps & Production Support:

• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
• Participate in deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution
• Ensure production stability and performance of applications

Project & Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
• Manage project timelines, communicate status, and escalate issues as needed to senior management.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and industry trends to enhance system performance and developer productivity.
• Promote best practices in cloud security, data governance, and agile software development processes.

Operational Excellence:

• Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of cloud environments, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address performance issues.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands on professional experience in software development, with substantial experience in Java, cloud architecture (specifically Microsoft Azure), and data lake solutions.

Technical Proficiency:

• Strong expertise in Java programming, including practical experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, and other related tools.
• Familiarity with big data tools and concepts such as data ingestion, processing, and analytics, as well as data governance and security in cloud environments.

Leadership & Communication:

• Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and driving projects in agile or hybrid environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Competencies:

• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges and optimizing processes.

XRM within GBTO responsible for producing and support Economic P&L, Market Risk (Stress Test & VaR) and Counterparty Risk.
