Work Location: Cedar Hill, TX

Work Hours: (Full-Time) Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm and 1 Saturday shift(8:00am-12:00pm) per month required

 

The Senior Mammographer operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related
diagnostic procedures, and performs advanced clinical, education, or quality skills on a consistent basis.
They must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques, employing
effective patient and clinician communication.

​​​​​​​Here is what you will need: 

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by
    ARRT in Radiography
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or
    MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA
    and ARRT
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is
    preferred
  • Prior quality control experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

A Day in the Life of a Senior Mammography Technologist:

  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
    •  Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
    • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
    • Performs one or more advanced skills at organizationally defined minimum thresholds
      assessed annually:
    • Stereotactic biopsy and/or Contrast Enhanced Mammography
    • Primary Mammography Quality Control responsibility and oversight
    • Mammography Educator/Preceptor
    • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the
      role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
    • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors,
      patients, and other employees;
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes
      complicated, written or oral instructions;
    • Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
