Responsibilities

→Work with the Network Architect to design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks
→Install, configure, and support network equipment including firewalls, switches, VLANs, DNS and DHCP servers
→Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
→Improve network monitoring and alerting across all sites
→Investigate network faults and generate a root cause analysis report following resolution
→Maintain all network equipment at the latest versions and patches
→Identify and raise critical issues to stakeholders in a timely manner
→Collaborate with the System Administrator to maintain networking systems
→Support knowledge transfer and documentation to ensure continuity beyond the engagement

→Familiarity with both copper and fiber connections
→Comprehensive understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, spanning tree, VRRP, and OSPF
→Comprehensive knowledge of multiple DHCP servers such as DHCPd, DHCP failover, and the DHCP option 82 schema
→Familiarity with pfSense and Fortinet firewalls including VPNs, IPsec tunnels, and policies
→Familiarity with Juniper, Buffalo, and TP-Link layer 3 managed switches
→Experience using or implementing network tools like Netflow, IPFIX, and SNMP
→Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyze, and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating reliably
→Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Wi-Fi/WLAN and security infrastructure
→5+ years of experience as a network engineer in a corporate environment or data center
→Willingness to travel up to 25%, potentially on short notice
→Availability for a 12-month engagement
→Certifications a bonus, but not required
