Scope of the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Advanced Accountant to support our day-to-day financial operations and bookkeeping for all our companies. The successful candidate should have experience working with North American accounting practices, ideally having been employed remotely by a North American accounting firm. This role requires strong multitasking abilities to manage financial transactions across multiple subsidiaries based in Canada and the US.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: Manage a high volume of transactions, including moving funds between companies and ensuring payments are made using different methods without blockage. Stay on top of ad spend and manage the flow of funds accordingly.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Handle incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
- Client Payment Requests: Request payments from clients, particularly for their advertising spend, and ensure timely collection.
- Wire Transfers and Credit Card Payments: Execute wire transfers and ensure credit card payments are made on time.
- Monthly Bookkeeping: Perform monthly bookkeeping duties to keep the books up-to-date for each company.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for employees in the Philippines and North America, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Invoice Generation: Generate invoices for customers across the portfolio of companies and ensure they are sent out promptly.
- Payment Management: Oversee payment requests, ensuring they are processed and paid promptly.
- Mailbox Management: Check and manage multiple mailboxes for various companies, performing the above tasks across subsidiaries and ensuring effective multitasking.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Navigate complex industries such as gambling, cannabis, and psychedelics, ensuring compliance with all regulations and minimizing payment processing risks.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with previous employment at a North American accounting firm preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Significant understanding of accounting concepts and processes is required; tax experience is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience working with a marketing firm or agency is a bonus. Familiarity with regulated industries like gambling, cannabis, and psychedelics is highly desirable.

- Required: Xero
- Preferred: Asana (task management), Wise (for payments), Wagepoint (payroll), Hubdoc, Dext (receipt management), Bill.com, Ramp.
