Custom/luxury jewelry business based in Houston, TX, with a large online presence.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CAD Jewelry Designer
to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will bring complex,
custom fine jewelry concepts to life—from initial 3D models and
client-ready renders to production-ready STL files.
Our focus is on intricate, high-end fine jewelry with a heavy emphasis on
diamond layouts, nature-inspired motifs, and precise stone settings. The
ideal candidate can iterate quickly based on feedback, balance creative
aesthetics with structural integrity for manufacturing, and communicate
clearly throughout the design process.

Key Responsibilities

● 3D CAD Modeling: Create precise, production-ready 3D CAD models
for high-end diamond and fine jewelry, ensuring structural integrity
and proper shrinkage allowances for casting.
● Complex & Intricate Design: Model nature-inspired concepts,
complex multi-shape diamond layouts, and detailed stone settings
(including prong, pavé, and bezel work).

● Photorealistic Rendering: Produce high-quality, realistic renders using
KeyShot (or equivalent rendering tools) to present to clients for
review and approval prior to production.
● Production Prep & File Export: Prepare, check, and export accurate
3D files (STL/3DM) ready for 3D printing and casting.
● Design Iteration & Feedback: Collaborate closely with team members
and iterate efficiently on designs based on client or production
feedback.
● Communication: Maintain clear, prompt communication regarding
project timelines, technical constraints, and design adjustments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
● Software Proficiency: Mastery of Matrix / MatrixGold, Rhino, or
RhinoJewel.
● Rendering Expertise: Strong experience with KeyShot (or similar
software) to create photorealistic renders for client approvals.
● Fine Jewelry Expertise: Solid background in designing diamond
jewelry, multi-shape stone layouts, and advanced setting styles
(prong, pavé, bezel).
● Manufacturing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the jewelry
manufacturing process, casting tolerances, metal behavior, and
stone-setting dimensions.
● Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English
communication; comfortable taking technical feedback and making
rapid adjustments.

Bonus / Preferred Skills (Not Required)
● Experience with ZBrush for organic sculpting and texture detail.
● Ability to generate 3D animated ring/jewelry videos or 360-degree
turntable renders for client previews.
