Finance & AccountingAccounts Payable Specialist
  • Location: Remote
  • Schedule: Full-time, with consistent overlap across core U.S. business hours for real-time collaboration with the finance team and vendor follow-up
  • Reports to: Controller / Accounting Manager
  • Function: Finance & Accounting — Accounts Payable

We are a well-established, rapidly growing U.S.-based dental support organization (DSO) that operates a large network of clinics across Texas and the surrounding region. Founded more than 50 years ago, we have grown to dozens of locations and continue to expand, backed by a central support team that runs the business side of care — finance, operations, and back office — so our clinics can stay focused on patients.

As we scale, our finance operation is modernizing to keep pace with the business. We value people who take ownership, bring order to high-volume, multi-location work, and look for ways to make the function run better — not just keep it running. This is a team where a sharp, systems-minded hire is noticed and given room to grow.

About the Role

~1 min read

This role exists because the company is modernizing how it pays its bills. Accounts payable is being standardized on Ramp, and the team wants someone who already lives in that platform — ideally someone who has moved a company off Bill.com and onto Ramp before — so the transition strengthens the process instead of stalling on a learning curve.

Beyond the systems piece, this is a hands-on AP seat. You will own the full invoice-to-payment cycle, keep vendors paid accurately and on time, and bring discipline to a function that is growing with the business. The right person is comfortable owning accounts payable end to end in a lean, fast-moving finance team — not waiting for a finished playbook, but helping write one.

Responsibilities

~1 min read

Accounts Payable Operations

  • →Own the full invoice lifecycle: receipt, coding, approval routing, and timely payment across multiple clinic locations
  • →Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and on schedule
  • →Manage payment runs and ensure vendors are paid correctly and on time
  • →Review and process employee expenses and corporate card transactions

Ramp & Systems

  • →Administer and optimize the accounts payable workflow in Ramp — approval chains, coding rules, card controls, and integrations
  • →Support the ongoing move of AP onto Ramp (vendor setup, data cleanup, workflow build, and testing), keeping the transition clean
  • →Keep Ramp and the accounting/ERP system in sync and troubleshoot issues as they arise

Controls, Reconciliation & Reporting

  • →Reconcile the AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • →Support month-end close, including accruals and AP aging reporting
  • →Maintain clean vendor records, W-9s, and 1099 readiness

Vendor & Cross-Functional

  • →Serve as the point of contact for vendor inquiries and payment questions
  • →Partner with location managers and department leads on approvals and correct coding
  • →Flag process gaps and propose improvements as invoice volume grows

Requirements

~1 min read
  • 2–5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience
  • Direct, hands-on experience using Ramp (this is non-negotiable)
  • Solid grasp of the full AP cycle and core accounting fundamentals
  • Proven accuracy processing high invoice volume
  • Strong written and spoken English, comfortable communicating directly with U.S. vendors and internal teams
  • Reliable overlap with U.S. business hours
  • Dependable remote-work setup: quiet space, reliable internet, and a track record of self-management
  • Direct experience migrating or converting accounts payable from Bill.com to Ramp
  • Experience with a major ERP or accounting platform (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage)
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location AP
  • 1099 and vendor-compliance experience
  • Experience in a high-growth, multi-site, or healthcare / DSO finance environment

You are:

  • Detail-obsessed — you catch the coding error before it reaches the close
  • A systems person — you like living inside tools like Ramp and making them work better, not just clicking through them
  • Proactive — you spot the broken step and fix it without being asked
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — you can own AP in a lean, growing team that is still building its playbook
  • A clear, reliable communicator — vendors and colleagues find you easy to work with and quick to respond

What We Offer

~1 min read

This is a chance to own accounts payable end to end at a company that is actively investing in a modern finance stack — not to inherit a rigid process, but to help shape one. You will work directly with the people making decisions, see the impact of cleaner AP across a large, multi-location business, and grow as the finance function grows.
