About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a proactive and personable Appointment Setter to manage prospect outreach, follow-up, and appointment scheduling.
This is a sales-focused role for someone who is comfortable spending a significant portion of their day communicating with prospective clients by phone, text, and email. The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, persistent without being overly aggressive, and skilled at turning initial conversations into scheduled appointments.
The position will begin part-time for the first six months, with the intention of transitioning into a full-time Monday–Friday position following the initial ramp-up period.
Responsibilities

Conduct outbound calls to prospective life insurance clients.

Engage leads through phone, text, email, and other approved communication channels.

Introduce the brokerage's services clearly and professionally.

Identify prospects' initial insurance needs, interests, and readiness to speak with a broker.

Qualify leads based on established criteria.

Schedule qualified appointments directly onto the broker's calendar.

Confirm upcoming appointments and reduce cancellations and no-shows.

Re-engage leads who previously expressed interest but did not schedule or move forward.

Maintain consistent outreach volume and follow-up activity.

Follow established outreach and follow-up sequences.

Maintain communication with prospects who are interested but not yet ready to schedule.

Follow up consistently without allowing viable opportunities to fall through the cracks.

Handle common initial questions and objections confidently.

Build trust with prospects while maintaining a consultative, professional approach.

Recognize when a prospect is ready for a more detailed insurance conversation and transition them appropriately to the broker.

Maintain accurate and current prospect information within the CRM or lead management system.

Document calls, conversations, outcomes, follow-up dates, and appointment details.

Keep the appointment-setting pipeline organized and current.

Track leads through different stages of the outreach process.

Maintain accurate notes so the broker has appropriate context before each scheduled appointment.

Follow established processes for lead disposition and follow-up.
Requirements

2–5 years of experience in appointment setting, outbound sales, inside sales, lead generation, telesales, or a similar customer-facing sales role.

Previous experience conducting outbound calls and scheduling appointments.

Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Confident and professional phone presence.

Strong ability to build rapport quickly with prospective clients.

Comfortable handling objections and maintaining conversations with hesitant prospects.

Persistent and disciplined approach to follow-up.

Previous experience in life insurance, insurance, financial services, or another consultative sales environment.
