Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Audit Manager based in South Africa to lead audit engagements for a US-based client. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to step into a globally exposed role while working remotely and maintaining flexibility as an independent contractor.

You’ll take full ownership of audit engagements, guide junior team members, and ensure high-quality delivery across all phases of the audit. This role suits someone who is confident operating independently, comfortable working across time zones, and motivated by international client exposure.

• →Lead end-to-end audit engagements from planning through to completion
• →Review audit files, financial statements, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
• →Ensure audits are executed in line with US GAAP and US auditing standards (GAAS)
• →Identify key risk areas and provide practical, value-driven recommendations
• →Manage, coach, and review the work of audit associates and juniors
• →Act as a key point of contact for US-based clients, ensuring clear and timely communication
• →Monitor engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• →Drive consistency, quality, and process improvements within the audit function

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CA(SA) or equivalent qualification strongly preferred
• 5+ years of audit experience, including managerial or supervisory responsibility
• Experience working with US clients or international audit standards is highly advantageous
• Strong technical knowledge of audit principles and financial reporting standards
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
