Position : Audio Editor/Sound Engineer

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm EST

Salary Range : 2300 - 2900 USD

About the job:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Audio Editor/Sound Engineer to join our team. This role involves editing, designing, and mastering audio for podcasts, ensuring high-quality sound and seamless transitions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio editing, mixing, and sound design for reported-style, chat / interview podcasts, and documentary style podcasts, with a passion for storytelling through audio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Edit raw audio files for podcasts, ensuring clarity, smooth pacing, and elimination of unwanted noises or distractions.
• Enhance podcasts with creative sound design elements that align with the tone and style of the content.
• Perform professional audio repair, mixing, and mastering to ensure balanced levels, smooth transitions, and consistent sound quality.
• Ensure that all audio content meets technical standards for sound quality and adheres to production deadlines.
• Collaboration: Work closely with producers and clients to ensure the final product aligns with their vision and specifications.
• Optional (but a Plus): Assist with audio post-production for video projects when needed.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of audio editing experience, specifically editing chat / interview / reported-style / documentary style podcasts
• Strong sound design and music placement skills 
• Strong audio repair skills
• Strong audio mixing & mastering skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• A strong portfolio of podcast work that showcases expertise in audio editing, sound design, and mixing/mastering
• Extremely high proficiency in English is essential, as you will be editing complex dialogue with industry-specific jargon
• Experience with audio post-production for video content is a plus, though not required
• Experience working in Descript a plus!
