Crypto Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Crypto Accountant to join our clients finance team, a leading accounting firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing cryptocurrency transactions, financial reporting, and tax compliance within the evolving regulatory landscape. This role requires a strong understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and accounting principles. 

• →Maintain and reconcile cryptocurrency wallets, transactions, and financial records. 
• →Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of crypto assets in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). 
• →Prepare financial statements and reports reflecting crypto holdings, gains/losses, and valuation adjustments. 
• →Manage crypto-related tax compliance, including tracking cost basis, capital gains, and tax reporting requirements. 
• →Assist in auditing digital asset transactions and implementing internal controls to mitigate financial risk. 
• →Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay up-to-date on regulatory developments and ensure adherence to applicable laws. 
• →Support treasury functions related to crypto asset management, including liquidity planning and exchange transactions. 
• →Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for digital assets and blockchain-based financial activities. 
• →Work closely with finance and technology teams to improve automation and efficiency in crypto accounting processes. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CFA preferred). 
• 4+ years of proven experience in accounting, with a strong preference for candidates with exposure to cryptocurrency and blockchain transactions. 
• Experienced in actual bookings with systems for crypto entries?
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations of crypto bookings?
• Previous experience in a client-facing role, either in an accounting firm or as a freelance accountant. 
• Experience working with startups and understanding their unique financial needs. 
• Knowledge of digital asset accounting frameworks and financial regulations.
• Experience with crypto wallets, exchanges, and blockchain explorers. 
• Familiarity with tax implications related to cryptocurrencies. 
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero. 
• Experience with a crypto subledger such as Cryptio, Breezing, Tres Finance, or similar platforms. 
• Experience using Dext for expense management and automation. 
• Payroll experience in Switzerland or the U.S.. 
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry. 
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

● Experience in a crypto-focused company, fintech, or financial services industry.
● Understanding of smart contracts, DeFi protocols, and NFTs. 
● Knowledge of ERP systems with crypto integration.
● Ability to work with blockchain analytics tools.
