About the Role
~1 min readWe are hiring a Director of Finance & Accounting to own core accounting operations while also driving financial planning, analysis, and strategic insights across the organization.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of accounting, FP&A, and operations. You will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, while also equipping leadership with the insights needed to drive profitability, optimize cash flow, and support expansion.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable:
- Owning the close process and financial reporting
- Building models and analyzing performance
- Partnering with non-finance stakeholders to drive better decisions
Responsibilities

- Build and maintain financial models, including:
- Pro formas
- Scenario and sensitivity analyses
- Expansion and capital planning models
- Analyze operating performance, identify trends and variances, and deliver actionable insights
- Support evaluation of new initiatives, store openings, and investments through ROI analysis
- Prepare and deliver recurring financial and operational reporting for leadership
- Partner with operations to analyze:
- Unit-level performance
- Margins and cost structures
- Labor efficiency and cost controls
- Monitor KPIs and help establish performance benchmarks
- Translate financial data into clear, decision-ready insights for cross-functional teams
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
- Ensure timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, and reporting integrity
- Coordinate with external partners on:
- Audits
- Tax filings
- Compliance requirements
- Manage cash flow, including:
- Cash positioning
- Short-term forecasting
- Evaluate and enhance accounting and financial reporting systems
- Support implementation and optimization of tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
- Improve efficiency and scalability of:
- Close processes
- Forecasting workflows
- Reporting cadence
- Identify automation opportunities and reduce manual processes
- Design and maintain internal controls as the organization scales
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and financial governance
- Strengthen financial processes to support multi-unit growth
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to:
- Leadership
- Operations
- External advisors
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and real-world performance
- Support ad hoc analysis, board materials, and executive presentations
- Financial statements are consistently accurate, timely, and audit-ready
- Close processes are structured, predictable, and scalable
- Budgets and forecasts enable proactive, informed decision-making
- Leadership has clear visibility into financial performance and cash flow
- Finance is viewed as a strategic partner, not just a reporting function
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance
- Proven ownership of month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
Nice to Have

- Experience in:
- Multi-entity or multi-location businesses
- High-growth or scaling environments
- Prior experience managing or mentoring team members or outsourced partners
- Familiarity with systems such as:
- QuickBooks
- NetSuite
- Restaurant365 or similar ERP/accounting platforms
- Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail
