As we continue to grow, we are expanding our estimating function to support increasing project volume and ensure accurate, competitive, and timely bid delivery.
About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to support our sales and project management teams.
This role is critical to the business—responsible for translating architectural drawings and specifications into clear, accurate, and competitive bid packages.
You will work closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to:
- Analyze project requirements
- Develop cost estimates
- Identify risks and gaps in scope
- Ensure all estimates are thorough, structured, and reliable
This is a high-ownership, back-of-house role ideal for someone who thrives in a technical, detail-driven environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Perform detailed takeoffs from:
- Architectural drawings
- Specifications
- Project documentation
- Accurately quantify materials, components, and scope requirements
- Develop complete and structured bid packages for:
- Custom millwork
- Architectural woodwork
- Custom door systems
- Create itemized cost breakdowns, including:
- Wood species
- Hardware
- Specialty materials
- Estimate labor requirements in collaboration with internal teams
- Analyze project documents to identify:
- Scope gaps
- Exclusions
- Potential risks
- Clearly document assumptions and clarifications
- Ensure estimates are both competitive and protected
- Work closely with:
- General Manager
- Sales team
- Project managers
- Respond to RFIs and scope clarification requests
- Support alignment between estimating, sales, and production
- Maintain organized records of:
- Estimates
- Revisions
- Bid history
- Track multiple active bids simultaneously
- Continuously improve internal estimating workflows and accuracy
- Proven experience estimating in one or more of the following:
- Architectural millwork
- Custom cabinetry
- Wood doors
- Finish carpentry or related trades
- Strong ability to read and interpret:
- Architectural drawings
- Elevations
- Specifications
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Excel or Google Sheets (cost modeling, structured estimates)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written English communication skills
- Experience with both residential and commercial projects
- Exposure to hospitality or healthcare projects
- Familiarity with estimating or takeoff software
- Experience working with U.S.-based construction or manufacturing teams
- Estimates are accurate, structured, and delivered on time
- Scope gaps and risks are proactively identified and communicated
- Internal teams trust your work and rely on your estimates
- Multiple bids are managed efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Documentation is clean, organized, and easy to reference
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
