As the organization continues to scale, leadership is investing in stronger financial infrastructure, operational maturity, and strategic oversight to support future growth.
As the business continues to expand, the finance function has become increasingly complex and critical to day-to-day operations. Leadership is seeking an experienced Finance Manager who can take ownership of the finance department, strengthen financial controls, improve operational processes, and provide leadership across the accounts team.
This role exists to bring structure, accountability, and scalability to the finance function while allowing the founders and leadership team to focus on strategic growth initiatives.
About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a senior-level Finance Manager to oversee finance operations across multiple healthcare entities and lead a growing accounts team.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced finance professional who can balance strategic oversight with operational execution. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, compliance, team leadership, process improvement, and overall financial operations while helping build scalable systems that support long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, comfortable operating in regulated environments, and capable of independently owning the finance function with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities

- Manage accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial controls
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and operational metrics
- Maintain hands-on involvement in accounting and finance activities when required
- Lead and support a six-person finance and accounts team
- Manage direct reports and provide coaching, guidance, and accountability
- Improve team processes, workflows, and performance standards
- Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with Australian financial and regulatory requirements
- Support internal and external audits
- Manage financial risk and strengthen internal controls
- Assist with regulatory reporting and government-related financial requirements
- Maintain audit readiness and compliance documentation
- Build scalable finance systems and operational frameworks
- Improve reporting structures and financial visibility
- Standardize financial procedures and documentation
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Implement best practices across finance operations
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning initiatives
- Assist with operational decision-making through financial analysis
- Contribute to the company’s long-term growth and scalability
- 10–15+ years of finance and accounting experience
- 5+ years of finance leadership or management experience
- Strong hands-on accounting and operational finance expertise
- Previous experience managing finance or accounts teams
- Experience working with Australian businesses
- Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of outcomes
- Strong process improvement and systems-thinking mindset
- Experience within healthcare, aged care, disability services, or government-funded sectors
- Exposure to highly regulated operational environments
- Experience managing audits and government compliance requirements
- Background in growing or entrepreneurial businesses
- Experience implementing finance systems and operational improvements
