About the Role: We are seeking a systems-driven Finance Manager/Controller to oversee financial operations for a growing real estate portfolio, combining hands-on accounting with strong financial insight.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of improving processes while supporting leadership with financial clarity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own the full AP and expense workflow end-to-end in Ramp and QuickBooks — from transaction entry through reconciliation and close
• Maintain accurate financial records and lead month-end and year-end close including accruals,prepaids, and depreciation entries
• Ensure every expense is properly classified and coded across entities — and proactively flag anything that doesn’t make sense
• Maintain and organize the chart of accounts across multiple entities in QuickBooks
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts and entities
• Manage intercompany transactions and allocations across entities
• Oversee vendor management, W-9 collection, and 1099 preparation across all entities
• Monitor cash positions across entities and proactively flag low cash or unusual activity to leadership

Systems & Process Management

• Design and maintain scalable financial workflows across Ramp, QuickBooks, and internal tools —thinking critically about how data flows and where gaps exist
• Build and document financial processes as the portfolio scales — identify gaps and work with the company to resolve them
• Automate repetitive tasks and eliminate inefficiencies wherever possible

Financial Oversight & Analysis

• Review all financial data with a critical eye — push back on misclassifications, investigate discrepancies, and escalate issues promptly
• Work with asset management team to provide clear and accurate monthly financial packages for leadership review
• Maintain audit-ready records for lenders, investors, and lessees

Strategic Support & Ownership

• Own and build scalable financial systems — acting as the financial gatekeeper across all entities
• Develop working knowledge of the business, properties, and leases to apply critical thinking to transactional data

Qualifications:

Required skills:

• 6+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role
• Experience working across multiple entities or business units
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks
• Experience with Ramp or similar AP/expense management platforms (highly preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, data analysis, structured reporting)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (accruals, reconciliations, classifications)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proven ability to own financial processes end-to-end with minimal supervision
• Strong communicator who proactively surfaces issues and discrepancies to leadership without being prompted

• Experience in real estate, property management, or multi-entity environments
• Background in a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Finance Manager role
• Experience working with remote or international teams
• Familiarity with AI tools and automation in finance workflows
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment — comfortable building systems vs. inheriting them
