Fleet Manager (Remote) - 64338550820
Quick Summary
Must be physically based in South Africa or South America / Latin America. Schedule: Ability to work full US business hours reliably (e.g., Eastern / Central Time alignment).
Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, EST
We are seeking an execution-focused Director of Operations / Fleet Manager to step into an existing, mission-critical operational role. In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of a team of Market Managers, Customer Support, and Sales Representatives to ensure work is performed effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals. You will provide guidance, support, and direction to employees while monitoring performance, productivity, attendance, task delegation, and policy compliance.
In addition to driving team workflow and employee development, you will own the day-to-day health, allocation, maintenance, and growth of our national vehicle fleet across multiple US markets. You will oversee vehicle repairs, diagnose issues remotely using photos, videos, and digital inspections, enforce preventative maintenance schedules, and negotiate repair pricing and service agreements with local shops.
As part of our extended leadership group, you serve as the vital link between frontline teams and Executive Leadership—communicating objectives, reporting on performance trends, resolving conflicts, and balancing operational efficiency with employee engagement.
This is not a high-level corporate policy role—it is a hands-on operational management position for a leader who thrives in the weeds, handles high-volume moving parts with precision, and takes extreme ownership. We can teach you our internal systems and software, but we cannot teach dedication, high accountability, or operational grit.
- Radical Ownership & Accountability: Takes personal responsibility for team output, fleet performance, vehicle logistics, and vendor follow-through from detection to completion.
- Execution & Detail Focus: Comfortable diving into daily operational details, tracking complex vehicle statuses, and managing moving parts.
- Team Leadership & Development: Provides clear direction, fosters a safe and engaging work environment, monitors employee attendance, and drives performance standard compliance.
- Proactive Stakeholder Management: Drives seamless communication across remote teams, market leads, dealers, auto repair shops, and Executive Leadership without requiring constant supervision.
- Decisive Problem Solving: Resolves sudden vehicle downtime, maintenance bottlenecks, client disputes, or internal team conflict calmly, quickly, and rationally.
- Commercial Acumen: Balances operational discipline with client retention, fleet growth, budget management, and cost control.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Direct, monitor, and support Market Managers, Customer Support, and Sales teams to hit productivity and quality targets.
- Fleet Health & Maintenance Control: Oversee maintenance, remotely diagnose issues via digital media, enforce preventative care, and track fleet uptime across regional markets.
- Vendor & Cost Optimization: Negotiate repair pricing and service agreements with local shops, monitor maintenance budgets, and manage overall fleet cost control.
- Maintenance & Retrieval Efficiency: Coordinate swift vehicle servicing, registration renewals, inspections, titling, and repossession/retrieval logistics.
- Fleet Expansion & Scaling: Partner with leadership to find dealership partners, acquire vehicles, and coordinate tech/GPS hardware installations.
- Account & Credit Management: Make grounded judgment calls on account quality, customer issue resolution, fee adjustments, service credits, and churn prevention.
