We are looking for a contract Frontend Engineer who can own the user-facing experience of the AlphaSearch platform while also contributing to backend API integrations. You will work directly with the founder to rapidly ship features, iterate on product direction, and help define what best-in-class looks like for M&A deal sourcing software.

This is a contract engagement (1099) with a path to deeper involvement as the platform scales. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats — part product thinker, part engineer — and can move from wireframe to working feature quickly.

What You'll Do

• Design and build responsive, data-rich UI components in React that power search, filtering, and company discovery workflows
• Integrate frontend interfaces with FastAPI backend endpoints and third-party data enrichment APIs
• Rapidly prototype new features and iterate based on user feedback and founder direction
• Work with MongoDB data structures to display and manipulate private company data at scale
• Collaborate on LLM-powered features including AI-generated summaries, scoring, and target recommendations
• Maintain clean, well-documented code and contribute to a scalable front-end architecture
• Participate in product strategy discussions — your opinion on UX and workflow design matters here

• 3+ years of experience with React (hooks, context, component architecture)
• Proficiency in Python — comfortable reading, writing, and debugging backend code
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI for building or consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience working with MongoDB (queries, schemas, aggregation pipelines)
• Demonstrated ability to rapid prototype — shipping working features quickly over perfection
• Strong understanding of REST API design and integration patterns
• Self-directed and comfortable working in an early-stage, async environment

• Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) and prompt-driven feature development
• Experience with data-heavy SaaS products — tables, filters, search, dashboards
• Background in fintech, proptech, or deal-flow / M&A tooling
• Experience with data enrichment platforms (Clay, Clearbit, Apollo, etc.)
• Familiarity with proxy infrastructure or web scraping pipelines
