About the Company
This is a U.S.-based solo legal practice focused primarily on personal injury matters, with additional exposure to complex litigation and criminal defense cases. The practice operates in a fast-paced environment and is currently rebuilding internal capacity to reduce administrative workload and ensure cases progress efficiently.
About the Role
The Senior Paralegal will provide high level litigation and case management support to the attorney and office manager. This role requires an experienced, self directed paralegal who can independently manage workflows, proactively drive next steps, and coordinate persistently with medical providers and third parties. The position is designed to minimize non billable administrative work for the attorney while maintaining strict confidentiality and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management and Litigation Support
- Drive case progress by tracking deadlines, follow ups, and next actions
- Draft and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs under attorney direction
- Prepare affidavits and supporting materials
- Summarize medical records and build detailed medical chronologies and case summaries
- Maintain organized matter files with consistent naming and version control
Medical Records and Provider Coordination
- Request medical records and billing documents from providers and facilities
- Follow up persistently via phone and email to obtain records in a timely manner
- Track outstanding requests, fees, and delivery timelines
- Escalate delays or issues as needed
Intake and Scheduling Support (as needed)
- Assist with inbound calls and pre client screening
- Schedule consultations and manage the attorney’s calendar
- Support call handling through a Fort Worth local phone number if required
Billing and Timekeeping Support
- Assist with time tracking and billing documentation
- Maintain accurate notes and time entries per firm guidelines
Security and Confidentiality
- Adhere to attorney client privilege and strict confidentiality standards
- Operate within secure workflows and controlled systems provided by the firm
Hard Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years experience as a paralegal or senior legal assistant
- Strong litigation and personal injury case support experience
- Proven ability to draft legal documents and high quality summaries
- Extensive experience ordering, tracking, and summarizing medical records
- Familiarity with legal document management and case organization
Soft Skills Required
- Excellent written and spoken English communication
- Highly organized, deadline driven, and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities remotely
- Strong follow through and proactive communication
- High judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting U.S. law firms, particularly Texas based practices
- Prior remote work experience with attorneys or small firms
