About the Role

We are seeking an experienced US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an active license to join our team as a Senior Manager – US Corporate Tax. This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for managing complex US corporate tax engagements, ensuring compliance, advising on tax planning strategies, and providing technical leadership across a portfolio of US-based clients.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of experience in US corporate taxation, thrives in a fast-paced remote environment, and enjoys partnering with growing businesses to solve complex tax and accounting challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review federal and state corporate income tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, and related filings.
  • Oversee corporate tax compliance processes while ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and state tax regulations.
  • Advise clients on US corporate tax matters, including tax planning, entity structuring, and regulatory compliance.
  • Research and interpret changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on R&D tax credits and other available tax incentives.
  • Review financial statements to assess tax implications and ensure reconciliation between accounting and tax records.
  • Support ASC 740 tax provision calculations and related documentation where required.
  • Maintain strong documentation standards and internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned tax engagements.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve project issues while maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Manage multiple deadlines across concurrent engagements while ensuring exceptional client service.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior tax professionals.
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices across the tax function.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted US CPA license (required).
  • California CPA or California state tax filing experience is highly preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in US Corporate Tax.
  • Experience working with US-based companies or public accounting firms.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and state corporate tax regulations.
  • Experience with corporate tax compliance, tax planning, and tax research.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP (knowledge of Canadian or European GAAP is an advantage).
  • Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Google Sheets, or similar systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing multiple client engagements.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely with regular overlap during US business hours.
  • Experience supporting venture-backed or mid-market US companies.
  • Public accounting or Big Four experience.
  • Familiarity with tax software such as Intuit ProConnect Tax, CCH Axcess Tax, or Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS.
  • Experience working with clients in climate technology, sustainability, renewable energy, or related industries.
