MarketingPerformance Marketer
  • Location: Remote (Offshore - Open to Talent in South Africa)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Independent Contractor
  • Compensation: $3,200-3,800
  • Reports To: Director of Strategy (Nate) & Partners
  • Timeline: Hiring Immediately
  • Hours: Mo-Fr 8AM - 5PM Central US time

The Senior Performance Marketing Manager will own paid customer acquisition across multiple e-commerce brands and client businesses. We are actively reframing this role from a domestic Director level to find an exceptional, senior-level offshore growth generalist in South Africa whose technical skill, proactive nature, and creative muscle match or exceed the highest tier of talent.

Our organization is putting a massive amount of effort toward marketing with the explicit goal of stabilizing and scaling our brand portfolios. You will report directly to Nate, our Director of Strategy, who acts as the brand architect (handling buyer personas, product architecture, go-to-market strategy, and 5-year plans across online and wholesale channels).

Nate will hand you a comprehensive brand brief, defining product promotions and buyer personas. From there, you will be expected to independently architect, implement, engineer, and optimize growth strategies around paid media. We are looking for a true growth generalist with a foundational background in digital advertising—not a siloed specialist. You must be an independent problem solver who can figure out what you don’t know, proactively request the right data, and act as an engineering tester pulling the right levers to drive revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Own performance across Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, CTV, and other paid acquisition channels. (Must have deep, hands-on experience in the back end of Meta Ads Manager and other core channels).
  • Build and manage campaign structures, budgets, and testing roadmaps.
  • Monitor daily performance and optimize campaigns to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Identify scaling opportunities while maintaining target acquisition costs.
  • Develop channel-specific growth strategies across multiple brands.
  • Own campaign architecture across paid media channels, including budget allocation, account structure, audience strategy, campaign objectives, and spend splits by channel, campaign type, audience, product, and funnel stage.
  • Recommend media spend splits across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, CTV, retargeting, prospecting, branded search, non-branded search, shopping, and creative testing based on business goals, available budget, historical performance, and margin targets.
  • Build campaign plans proactively without requiring leadership to define every campaign, audience, or budget allocation.
  • Translate product launches, promotional calendars, and revenue goals into clear paid media plans with recommended budgets, campaign structures, timing, and expected outcomes.
  • Build reporting dashboards and KPI frameworks.
  • Monitor and analyze:
    • ROAS
    • MER
    • CAC
    • AOV
    • LTV
    • Contribution Margin
    • Customer Cohort Performance
  • Identify trends and opportunities through rigorous data analysis. Be exceptionally data-driven, ensuring you are proactively requesting and looking at the right information.
  • Build forecasts and recommend budget allocation strategies.
  • Present performance insights and clear measurements up to Nate (Director of Strategy), enabling him to effectively communicate what is and isn't working directly to the clients.
  • Flex your creative muscle. We need someone who deeply understands how to be creative with variance, combining analytical rigor with strong creative instincts.
  • Partner closely with our Creative Production Designer and internal creative team.
  • Develop creative testing frameworks and iteration processes.
  • Independently write and hand off highly thoughtful, tailored creative briefs (including specific copy and graphic needs) to the creative support teams.
  • Analyze creative performance, identify winning messaging angles, and continuously share what is and isn't working so the creative team can adapt dynamically.
  • Build systems for continuous creative optimization.
  • Collaborate on landing page and offer testing initiatives.
  • Work hand-in-hand with AP to ensure that the portfolio websites are thoroughly optimized for conversions.
  • Keep a constant, proactive eye on user experience, independently making conversion rate optimization (CRO) suggestions. (You will have team support to execute and make changes, but you are responsible for monitoring and driving these initiatives).
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve:
    • Customer acquisition efficiency
    • Conversion rate
    • New customer growth
    • Retention performance
    • Product launch performance
  • Support both internal brands and client ecommerce businesses to ensure marketing directly drives sales and revenue increases.
  • Build repeatable marketing processes and reporting frameworks.
  • Improve attribution and measurement capabilities.
  • Develop documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Help build the foundation of a world-class performance marketing organization.
