About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a highly detail-oriented, self-sufficient Staff or Senior Accountant with strong SAP experience and a solid foundation in U.S. GAAP. This is a replacement search and reflects an elevated standard: we are looking for a candidate who delivers exceptional, ready-to-use work on the first pass with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate is a true self-starter who takes independent ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and can be fully depended upon in a fast-growing, small-team environment where accuracy has direct impact both internally and with external partners.
This role will support daily accounting functions, month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration across global operations.
Given the nature of this role and our team's stage of growth, we are placing special emphasis on the following non-negotiable traits:
- Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy is critical; errors have direct downstream impact within our organization and with external partners
- Strong self-editing and quality control — work product must be polished and ready on the first pass, without requiring secondary review
- Proactive, independent communication — you raise issues before they become problems and keep stakeholders informed without prompting
- High degree of ownership — you manage your responsibilities fully and do not require constant oversight or micro-management
- Self-starter mentality — you identify what needs to be done and do it, even in ambiguous or evolving situations
Responsibilities
~1 min readDaily Accounting Operations
- →Own day-to-day accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank entries, and journal postings
- →Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, credit card reconciliations, and payment runs with high accuracy and no rework
- →Maintain accurate financial records within SAP Business One, including journal entries, reporting, and system workflows
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- →Execute timely month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- →Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany accounts, etc.)
- →Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses — delivered clean, complete, and ready for review
- →Support the Controller in ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
Tax, Compliance & Audit Support
- →Assist with sales tax and use tax filings
- →Support external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews
- →Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to internal control procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- →Partner with Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Operations teams to support business objectives
- →Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and help streamline accounting workflows
- →Take on new tasks and expanded responsibilities as the company grows — this role has upward mobility for the right candidate
Requirements
~1 min read- 3+ years of accounting experience (3+ for Senior Accountant level), preferably in a multi-entity or global environment
- Demonstrated track record of high-accuracy, low-error work — candidates should be prepared to speak to their quality control practices
- Hands-on experience with SAP (SAP Business One strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience working for a U.S.-based company (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliation tools)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — proactive and clear across departments and time zones
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently, without reminders
- Experience with Avalara / Avatax
- Exposure to SAP B1 add-ons (e.g., Boyum, B1UP)
- Background in import/export, textiles/apparel, or manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with U.S. sales tax, inventory accounting, or duty/tariff considerations
- Prior experience in a high-growth, small-team environment where autonomy and ownership were essential
This is a small, high-performing team with a high bar for quality. We are growing quickly and need people who grow with us. If you thrive with independence, take pride in error-free work, and communicate proactively — this role is a strong fit. If you require significant day-to-day direction or frequent check-ins to stay on track, this is likely not the right environment.
