Trade Desk Associate, Extended Hours (Series 7 Track)
Fully remote, full-time, fixed shift. Open to candidates in the Philippines, South Africa, and Latin America, matched to the shift that falls in their local daytime or evening.
- Trading week: Sunday 9:00 PM to Friday 8:00 PM Eastern, 23 hours a day.
- Team structure: Two associates per shift (four remote seats in total), alongside the in-office U.S. desk that covers 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern. Associates on the same shift back each other up for breaks, time off, and sick days.
- Reports to: Head of the trading desk (to be confirmed).
- Start: Immediate. Licensed duties begin once the Series 7 is passed (see Required Qualifications).
We are a rapidly growing U.S.-based, FINRA-registered broker-dealer. We execute stock and options trades for both institutional and retail clients, and we're a member of the major U.S. equity exchanges.
We run a lean, experienced trading desk backed by our own in-house trading technology. That means our team monitors live order flow, risk, and client accounts on systems we build and control. Our trading volume and client base are growing fast. As U.S. markets move toward near round-the-clock trading, we're extending our hours from Sunday night through Friday evening, 23 hours a day.
About the Role
~1 min readOur markets are open far longer than our U.S. desk is staffed, and that gap is where this role lives. We've already extended trading to 4:00 AM through 8:00 PM Eastern, and we're moving to a 23-hour, five-day week. Prices and risk can move in seconds at any hour, so someone qualified has to be watching every minute the market is open.
You'll be part of a small follow-the-sun team covering the hours before and after our in-office desk. You'll watch live order flow and risk, keep client orders and accounts moving, and answer clients directly once you're licensed. Each shift overlaps with the next for a clean handoff, and you'll back up a teammate on your shift so coverage never drops.
You don't need to know how to pick stocks or call the market. You do need to understand what an order is, what happens to it as it moves through our systems, and what to do when something looks wrong. We'll train you on our systems and workflow while you study for your Series 7. Most of our trading desk comes from engineering and problem-solving backgrounds, and that's the profile we're looking for here.
Responsibilities
~2 min readReal-Time Order Flow & Risk Monitoring
- →Monitor live order flow, positions, and risk limits across our trading and risk systems for your full shift.
- →Spot rejected, stuck, or unusual orders and risk alerts quickly, then act or escalate according to desk procedures.
- →Stay composed and methodical when markets move fast and traders need answers immediately.
- →Watch system health through key moments of the trading week, including the Sunday 9:00 PM open, the 8:00 PM close, and the overnight reopen.
Client Support (once licensed)
- →Answer institutional and retail client questions about orders, executions, and account status by phone and through approved messaging channels such as Slack and WhatsApp.
- →Communicate clearly, accurately, and within regulatory rules. Every client conversation is recorded and reviewed.
- →Route issues you can't resolve to the right person on the desk, compliance, or technology team, and follow them through to resolution.
Account & Onboarding Operations
- →Monitor our onboarding and account systems and help new client accounts move through each step.
- →Flag incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual account activity for review.
Shift Handoffs & Documentation
- →Run a structured handoff at the start and end of every shift, covering open issues, live risk, and client follow-ups.
- →Keep a clear log of incidents, escalations, and actions taken during your shift.
Licensing & Compliance
- →Pass the SIE and Series 7 exams under firm sponsorship within your first month, plus any additional licenses our compliance team requires (such as the Series 63).
- →Follow our written supervisory procedures and use only firm-approved, recorded communication channels.
Team Coverage
- →Back up the other associate on your shift during breaks, time off, and sick days so the desk is never unattended.
- →Cross-train on systems and procedures so either associate can run the shift alone.
Requirements
~2 min read- Ability and commitment to pass the SIE and Series 7 exams within 30 days of starting, with study time supported by the firm. You do not need to hold these licenses today, but licensed duties can't begin until you pass.
- Eligibility for FINRA registration, including a clean background check and fingerprinting.
- Strong logical and quantitative problem-solving. You enjoy working through a puzzle methodically and you're comfortable with numbers.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with the confidence to speak with clients directly.
- Composure under pressure. When something breaks and a trader needs an answer, you stay clear-headed.
- Ability to pick up internal, web-based systems quickly and follow detailed procedures precisely.
- Availability for a fixed Early or Late shift, including the Sunday evening (U.S. Eastern) open.
- A reliable home setup with high-speed internet and backup power or connectivity.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience that demonstrates strong analytical ability.
- Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or another quantitative field.
- Already holds the SIE, Series 7, or other FINRA licenses, or has passed similar professional exams.
- Experience in trade support, trading operations, brokerage client service, or a 24/7 operations or support desk.
- Working knowledge of the order lifecycle (order types, routing, fills, cancels) and the basics of stocks and options.
- Prior experience supporting U.S. clients or working U.S.-aligned shifts.
- Comfort with Excel, Slack, and ticketing or incident-logging tools.
You are:
- A problem-solver first. You want to know how a system works and why it broke, more than where the market is headed.
- Calm when it counts. A fast market or an urgent client sharpens your focus instead of rattling you.
- Precise. You read the alert twice, double-check the order, and write down what you did.
- Straightforward and ethical. You're comfortable in a fully recorded environment and you'd rather say "let me confirm" than guess.
- Dependable. Your teammates and the desk can count on you being there, on time, every shift.
- Ready to grow. You see the Series 7 as the start of a career in U.S. capital markets.
