Growth Marketing Manager (User Acquisition & Lifecycle)
Spiceworks | Cloud Help Desk & Inventory Online
The Opportunity
Spiceworks has been an industry pillar for more than 15 years, cultivating a community of millions of IT
professionals. Its flagship IT Helpdesk product, now Cloud Help Desk (CHD), has evolved from a completely free,
ad-supported solution to a freemium, subscription-based model designed to provide users with an ad-free
experience and additional premium features.
We are looking for a hands-on Growth Marketing Manager to own user acquisition and lifecycle execution across
Cloud Help Desk and Inventory Online. This is a high-drive individual contributor role for someone who enjoys
building, launching, testing, and optimizing growth programs directly. You will be responsible for increasing user
acquisition, reactivating lapsed users, engaging active free users, and helping convert qualified users into premium
subscribers.
You will work closely with Product Management, Community, and internal product experts. While product experts
will support deep technical demonstrations and product knowledge, you will own the growth engine—from audience
segmentation and campaign execution through engagement, conversion, and performance measurement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Database Reactivation & Win-Back Funnels: Build, write, launch, and optimize targeted reactivation email
campaigns for historical and lapsed users. Develop messaging that communicates the value of the modernized,
ad-free product experience, ease of setup, workflow efficiency, and minimal operational disruption.
• Product-Led Growth (PLG) & Lifecycle Marketing: Build and manage automated lifecycle campaigns triggered by
user behavior and product-usage milestones. Own the user journey from free sign-up or trial through
engagement, activation, and premium conversion.
• Campaign Development & Optimization: Create segmented, targeted, and multi-channel campaigns using
lifecycle marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Intercom, Marketo, or similar tools. Test messaging, audiences,
timing, and conversion paths to improve acquisition and subscription outcomes.
• Field Marketing, Local Meetups & Roadshows: Plan, coordinate, and host localized user meetups, workshops,
and roadshows designed to re-engage free and lapsed users. Work with existing Spiceworks community
chapters to build local participation and create meaningful user interactions.
• Event-Led Acquisition: Partner with internal product experts to deliver engaging user sessions, ensuring
technical product demonstrations are complemented by clear value messaging and a defined digital conversion
journey.
• Community & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Community Manager to understand forum
sentiment, identify opportunities within the community, and turn relevant discussions and engagement into
acquisition opportunities.
• Performance & Insights: Track acquisition velocity, engagement, reactivation, free-to-paid conversion, and
campaign performance. Use data and event feedback to identify opportunities, improve campaigns, and provide
actionable insights to Product Management.
• End-to-End Ownership: Take personal ownership of growth initiatives from audience selection and campaign
creation through launch, measurement, optimization, and reporting.
Job Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in B2B SaaS growth marketing, user acquisition, lifecycle marketing, product-
led growth, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience building and executing automated lifecycle campaigns using tools such as HubSpot,
Intercom, Marketo, or similar marketing automation platforms.
• Hands-on experience with user segmentation, behavioral targeting, email journeys, conversion funnels, and
campaign optimization.
• Experience organizing and executing community events, user meetups, workshops, roadshows, or other field
marketing initiatives.
• Strong growth-oriented copywriting skills, with the ability to translate product capabilities and updates into clear,
compelling user benefits.
• Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with user data, acquisition metrics, conversion rates, campaign
performance, and growth targets.
• Ability to work independently, move quickly, experiment, learn from results, and take ownership of execution.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly when partnering with Product,
Community, and technical subject-matter experts.
Required Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in a SaaS, technology, IT, developer, workflow, or digital product environment is preferred.
• Experience working with a freemium or product-led growth model is strongly preferred.
