Assistant National MDT Coordinator

The job purpose is to support the delivery of digital multi-disciplinary (e-MDT) services across the Spire group of hospitals, with a particular focus on MDTs for elective surgery. This will include co-ordinating planned MDT’s, ensuring relevant information is collated and available for review by MDT members. The role will also require working with consultants to ensure the service is well structured, runs effectively and that patients are discussed and treated in line with available guidelines.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Identify and discuss with colleagues any risks relating to Spire’s MDT development plan and effective management strategies to reduce the level of risk.

Support Spire MDTs to discharge their responsibilities in line with policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of e-MDT meetings and outcomes.
- Contribute to the design or development of new forms and data sets when requested by Spire MDTs or required by new guidelines or best practice.
- Develop processes to help ensure information recorded on Spire’s e-MDT systems is accurate and up-to-date.
- Work closely with the wider clinical team to develop and implement MDT audits in relevant specialties.
- In conjunction with the team, help identify patients eligible for inclusion in audits and support any relevant research projects in this area.
- Undertake audits of a range of MDT activities as guided by the team, collating and critically analysing audit data and developing reports to demonstrate compliance and to facilitate and support service redesign.
- Work closely with MDT members to review what they do well and what they need to improve, identifying actions to achieve this.
- Evaluate own knowledge and practice and make effective use of appropriate learning opportunities.
- Prepare for and actively take part in Spire Healthcare’s enabling excellence programme and set personal development objectives.
- Maintain personal development portfolio, applying own new learning to the future development of MDT services.
- Handle highly sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis. There may be a need to discuss information with patients and relatives as a part of the job role.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information in line with data protection legislation, best practice and Spire Healthcare policies.
- Undertake work activities and related training as defined in Spire Healthcare’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- A good standard of education including minimum GCSE Grade C and above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant complex / changing environment (health sector preferable)
- Experience of working in partnership with clinicians and participating in developing new processes to improve service delivery
- Experience of managing highly confidential information in a professional and restricted manner
- Experience of leading the delivery of change to practice and improvement
- Experience of working within digital platforms
- Familiar with the use of MS Office and other relevant IT packages.
- Experience of preparing both verbal and written reports
- Proven experience in the management of meetings, including preparation and forward planning, effective minute taking, recording of action points/logs and tracking action
