Bank Healthcare Assistant

Spire Wellesley Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join our Surgical ward on a bank contract You will join a warm, friendly and supportive team working adhoc shifts offered days and nights

A Bank contract at Spire Healthcare is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospital. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work.

The Wellesley has 3 Theatres (2 laminar flow) and an endoscopy unit, a 33 bedded Surgical Ward covering a wide variety of specialties including Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, General Surgery, Vascular, Plastics, Gynae, Ophthalmology, Spinal, Urology and ENT. We have had a recent Theatre refurbishment to further upgrade our theatre environment and bringing cutting edge technology to our hospital.

• →Assisting the Outpatients/Pre-Assessment & Wards team in the provision of exemplary patient care
• →Contributing to the support and monitoring of patients
• →Identifying and reporting any significant changes that might affect the patient’s health and well-being to the appropriate person.
• →Assisting with the movement of patients in line with hospital policies

• Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in the following: ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations.
