Spire Thames Valley Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Ward Team on a bank basis. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about high‑quality surgical care and are looking for flexible work within a well‑respected private healthcare environment.

You will be joining a highly skilled, supportive multidisciplinary team, where patient care, clinical excellence, and professional standards are at the heart of everything we do. If you are an experienced surgical nurse  looking to further develop your acute skills, this role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients’ recovery journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and deliver high‑quality nursing care across a varied and sometimes complex caseload
  • Support patients’ physical, emotional, and clinical needs throughout their hospital stay
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues, including the handling of sensitive or complex information
  • Work collaboratively within the MDT, contributing to safe, effective, and patient‑centred care
  • Promote best practice in health, safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance
  • Support service development and share knowledge to enhance team capability and patient outcomes
  • A Registered Nurse (NMC) with no restrictions on practice
  • Confident working independently while being a strong team player
  • Experienced in an acute hospital ward environment
  • Clinically competent across a range of nursing skills, underpinned by professional knowledge and sound judgement
