Spire St Anthony's Hospital is looking for an motivated Bank Porter to join our dedicated Facilities team. This role is essential in helping us deliver the highest standards of patient care and ensuring our hospital runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
Founded in 1904, Spire St Anthony's Hospital delivers care through skilled and dedicated staff working together. With a completed £27m development investment, we provide very high quality healthcare to patients around Sutton, Epsom, Surrey and South London.
About the Role
~1 min readAs a Porter, you will provide vital support across the hospital, including the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies. You will work as part of a close-knit team, covering a range of shifts including days, afternoons and nights.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →To transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
- →Move clinical equipment, medical supplies, goods and other items as required
- →Responsible for the safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
- →Support clinical teams by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment
- →Respond promptly to portering requests and prioritise tasks effectively
- →Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues
- →Uphold safety, infection‑control and patient‑handling standards
- →Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department
- →Complete additional portering and facilities tasks to support smooth running of the hospital
- Experience of working in a similar role and delivering frontline customer service
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Excellent customer care skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Caring and sympathetic
- Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
- Due to the physical demands of the role, including moving equipment and assisting with patient transport, you will need to be able to perform these essential duties safely
