Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join our busy Operating Theatre team. Whether you already have experience in a theatre environment or are looking to take your first step into healthcare, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.

→Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres.
→Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room.
→Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards.
→Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures.
→Preparing, checking and handling surgical instruments.
→Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control.
→Contributing to a safe, efficient and high-quality theatre environment.
→Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

Essential

A genuine interest in healthcare and patient wellbeing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or within a healthcare environment.
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent.
Previous theatre experience (although full training will be provided).
