Spire Harpenden Hospital is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join our busy Operating Theatre team.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.

  • →Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres.
  • →Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room.
  • →Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards.
  • →Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures.
  • →Preparing, checking and handling surgical instruments.
  • →Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control.
  • →Contributing to a safe, efficient and high-quality theatre environment.
  • →Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

  • Reliable, organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or within a hospital setting
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous theatre experience (desirable)
