Client Accounting Services Associate

SSC Advisors, Inc. and SSC CPAs P.A. are adding Client Accounting Services Associates to join a quickly growing employee-owned public accounting firm.

Associates on the Client Accounting Services team help bring clarity and order to our clients’ financial world. We are seeking curious and exceptional professionals to create value for our clients and to become their trusted advisors. We tackle all things accounting service related including preparation and analysis of financial statements, processing payrolls, sales and use tax, and other fully outsourced accounting needs such as vendor bill pay. We are responsible for a variety of highly sensitive and confidential accounting duties as well as being able to work both independently and collaboratively while prioritizing a diverse workload. The Associate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review and reconcile financial statements against supporting schedules, workpapers, and documentation.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing accurate and timely reporting to support client and business needs.
• Calculate, prepare, and submit sales tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations and filing requirements.
• Process and/or review payroll to ensure timely and accurate compensation, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
• Prepare and submit payroll-related deductions, including payroll taxes, retirement plan contributions, garnishments, and other required withholdings.
• Complete payroll reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual filings, W-2 preparation, and related compliance documentation.
• Prepare and file Forms 1099 and associated informational returns in accordance with federal and state requirements.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of capital assets.
• Provide comprehensive outsourced accounting services, including accounts payable management, bill payment processing, and ongoing financial support for clients.
• Assist with special accounting projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Associates will have client contact and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Associates should possess the ability to quickly learn accounting software and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs. Associates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. An accounting degree or experience in accounting and payroll is preferred, but not required.
