Unit Manager - 2nd Shift, Per Diem

Do you want to lead a team and make a real difference every day? St. Joseph’s Center, a caring nonprofit organization, is looking for a per diem Unit Manager for our residential program. This role is based at our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) on the Main Campus in Scranton, PA. As a Unit Manager, you will guide a team of Direct Support Professionals and make sure residents receive safe, respectful, and person-centered care.

• →Supervise and support direct care staff in your assigned area.
• →Train staff on care plans, goals, and daily routines.
• →Make sure residents’ Individual Plans are followed.
• →Help with personal care needs when needed (feeding, changing, positioning).
• →Keep the unit safe and organized; report any issues to leadership.
• →Hold staff meetings and share updates from administration.
• →Work with the team to solve problems and improve care.
• →Report medical concerns to nursing staff quickly.
• →Assist with hiring and training new staff.
• →Attend required meetings and training sessions.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• 1 year as a DSP, CNA, or similar role.
• Valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs. and assist with transfers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
